PhilaPro was formed in September 2009 from collectors and dealers, with the intention being to allow stamp collectors across the world to trade and make contact with other collectors and dealers with confidence and that this in turn will make the Internet a safer place for those involved in the hobby to interact and trade with each other. We find that by becoming a member of PhilaPro, and operating under a set code of ethics, that the bond between the Internet stamp collecting and dealing community is strengthening. Members who trade under the PhilaPro banner, (be these dealers or collectors), are fully committed to promoting philately both in the real world and on the Internet, and if requested we will promote our members philatelic sites, clubs and other philatelic related items, and provide systems whereby members can also trade or swap with other members. We also allow our members to display our logo on their web pages and in various other places. Our goal is to make the Internet a safer and more secure place for philatelists to trade. Not only to buy material, but also for collectors and dealers to sell or exchange with each other in confidence. Other benefits of the association are that members are keep informed about events which are taking place, a means of checking if someone is a members as they might claim to be and also offering a discount on philatelic books and other supplies. We also intend to co-operate with other philatelic associations and groups representing dealers and collectors over matters of interest to our members which will or may have an inpact on their businesses or their dealings as a customer / collector. We believe this can only be good in the long term and as such it is a benefit to our hobby as a whole.
