PhilaPro was formed in September 2009 as already mentioned on the about us page The website however was developed in March 2009 as a means of showing some ways of displaying ideas for the development of another site. To make it possible for all those involved, the site was linked into existing services so that it could be tested to make sure that the features suggested worked in the correct manner. At the same time some of the additional services were linked into a chat site, so as to provide users with these extra features. Following some discussions, it was decided that this version of the site would not be used and it was requested that the link on the chat site to this new version be removed. This was done to comply with thier wishes, however, it resulted in the additional items provided for chat users still pointing to the alternative version of the site. In order to solve this problem, the name on the site was changed to PhilaPro and the entire site moved into a new location on the server - with the original version being removed. This move and removal of files was done to make sure that any bookmarked links to the alternative version would no longer function and that any links generated by search engines would fade from the lists as they were no longer vaild internet locations. When the site was reloacted, some emails were recieved asking where this version of the site was now located, and these people were directed to the original site which was now linked via the chat. Some of these contacts expressed an intrested in joining PhilaPro, but stated that they were only collectors. Following this, the site was adapted further to make it open to all with an intrest the hobby, and thus at this point it was decided that membership would be open to dealers and collectors. some items that were in place in the original version, such as different passwords for each member have remained in place whilst others have been modified and altered to reflect PhilaPro. A number of areas have developed greatly and will continue to do so as alterations, new iformation and additional content are added. You can check the updates to this site at any time using the link on the home page. who were willing to join a society at its formation |
