In September 1865 a series of reprints were made by the printers, (Perkins Bacon), to provide example for the young Princes as a start to their philatelic collections
For the production of these sheets plate 66 was used. This plate had the revised, (Die 2), head and the check letters in the bottom corners were from alphabet 3. (All issued Penny Blacks have alphabet 1). Three printings was made on large crown watermarked paper and all were imperforate.

Both the carmine-rose printings are on upright watermarked paper.
