In November 1996 the book "History of Post Office Training" was published by Sarum Publications. (ISBN 0 947868 05 4)

This was the first time that a listing of this type of material had ever been compiled - however - due to various reasons, not least of all the publishers wish to leave things out and 'just get the basics listed and in place' a number of items were missing from the listings. Also, due to the rushed situation, no illustrations were included in the book and this makes the listing harder to use than they would otherwise be.

With it now being over 14 years since the book was originally published we felt that an updated version would be useful. We decided that as the information (as far as it goes) in the original was for the most part correct, that this would be as good a starting point for the new version as any other - it also saved a lot of re-typing. The intention with the new version is to produce it in two forms ...

  • A4 perfect bound - black and white and
  • A4 perfect bound - full colour
Both version will be the same but the black & white version, by nature of the production costs, will be a lot cheaper than the colour version. At this time we estimate that the black and white version will retail about £15 - only a few pounds higher than the original version cost in 1999 - and this with a book that we estimate at being twice the size ...
